Chisholm Trail Church of Christ

Compassion Center

The Compassion Care Center at 10th and Cedar began in 1995;  (Originally began in the West Annex in 1993)  when the Northside Church of Christ merged with the Westside Church of Christ.  After several attempts to sell the Northside building, the elders decided to put all of the benevolent groups under one roof.  Thus, the medical clinic, the clothes closet and the food bank were combined.

The free medical clinic is open on Thursdays from 6-9 P.M.They see up to 50 patients each week.  This includes examinations by a doctor (usually two doctors are available each week with a total of approximately eight doctors that rotate).  Nurses also volunteer and work on a rotation basis.  A registered pharmasist oversees the pharmacy of donated medicines and medicines purchased with money donated either through grants and/or private donations.  An optometrist comes twice a month to provide eye care.
